    Steve,

    Do this in Soundtrack Pro:

Select the clip in your FCP Timeline and right click. Choose: Send To/STP Audio File Project.

Once the file opens in the Editor, you need to set a Noise Print, Adjust, then apply:

Select an area within the clip that includes the noise you want to suppress. Now up to the Process menu: Noise Reduction/Set Noise Print.

De-select the snippet, and back up to the Process menu: Noise Reduction/Reduce Noise. Play the clip through the filter UI using the Playback button

Make your adjustments, then click Apply. The file will be processed. Finally, save out your work and the clip will update in the FCP timeline.

Keep in mind the process is a bit different when dealing with a multi-track mix. The instructions above are for processing a single clip.
