  • Playback in FCP is choppy

I have been trying to edit a short intro segment recently and have been coming up with a playback problem. After I finish rendering and exporting the file, it seems to play back in a choppy manner.
Any time I try to pan or zoom in or out of an image, the playback turns out completely choppy. I’ve tried everything from messing with my keyframes, changing timeline settings, uploading .tiffs instead of .jpegs, and I’m sure other things here and there.

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

You will have to supply more information to get good help. Post the actual sequence settings, timeline settings, and footage information here. Codecs, frame rate, all that jazz.

    Hi Lili,

Maybe the frame rate settings of the video footage is different than the time line settings. If you go into preferences and match the frame rate you shouldn’t have a problem.
