    This doesn’t seems to be a n FC issue, but something about your HDs.
    Open the Disk Utility and see if they shows up.

    Thanks for the suggestion Raphael. The disks do not show up. What I neglected to mention is that I have upgraded to FC7.

    Do you have a RAID? If not, be more specific about the hard drives that are a problem and how they are connected.

    The GTech ES drive can be accessed from the desktop. For some reason FCP loads and then disappears.

    Drive now seen by FCP. Do not know what I have done differently but it works! Thanks to those who applied their minds to the problem, I was panicking as a deadline looms..as usual.
