  Lost video part of timeline

  Hello: I have lost the edited video clips in my timeline…I can see all of the video tracks, but the video part of the edit is no longer visible. All of the edited audio is still visible in the timeline. Can anyone tell me how to make the video track reappear?

  Do you see the actual edited clips in the timeline, but there’s no video output? Or are the video tracks in the timeline empty? Describe your system-computer, OS, version FCP, graphics card, i/o device or card, etc. How do you monitor the video?

  Hi, John,

  I restored the project to an earlier version, so settled that problem, and it is now fine, but would love to figure out what I did…

  Video Tracks in timeline were all empty, no edited clips.

  I am working on final cut pro academic 6.06 on a MacBook w/ Mac OS X Vers. 10.5.8 Processor is 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory is 2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM

  Use the MacBook and 2 external 500GB G-Raid2’s.

  Chipset Model: NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
  Type: Display
  Bus: PCI
  VRAM (Total): 256 MB

  I’m glad you could restore your project. Have you trashed prefs & repaired permissions? If not, it’d be a good idea to do so. Also, run Disk Warrior. I do that at least once a month as preventive maintenance.
