GFX render
Hi,
I’m having a huge problem with graphics in Final Cut.
Every time I import some kind of graphical text, it pixelates. Whether it being a still with an alpha channel or a quicktime movie with text. The weird thing is, when I render it, it become even worse.
Have any of you had the same problem?
Please help!

I haven’t got a broadcast monitor, but here is what happens:
I have a nice sharp QT from graphics. It plays beautifully in QT player. I import it into FP, put it on a timeline (DV Pal anamorphic) and export as another quicktime and it with current settings. And it look s horrible when I play it back in QT… Don’t know what to do…

It’s the DV codec. It makes the graphics look bad. You can export them as uncompressed, or using the Animation codec, but when you drop them into a DV timeline, BAM, they inherit the DV compression. 5:1 compression, 4:1:1 color space…jaggies…the works!
If you want your graphics to shine, don’t use a DV sequence. Use a DV50 or ProRes NTSC.
