Does constantly rendering the same clip over and over degrade the image quality? I have some effects that need to be rendered every time I start FCP 7.

And if it does effect the quality, is it only for the rendered clip, or the entire time line?

    Thanks

When ever you put something in the time-line to render, the picture is de-compressed to 444., so every time you render there is degradation, unless you export to an 444 Uncompressed format.
The most the compression of the render codec, the more degradation.

Footage that is not rendered, its doesn’t get degraded. FC output the same picture than ingest.
