I’m a noob when it comes to authoring in or converting anything to flash; any basic tips? Original is 10-bit uncompressed SD Final cut timeline, based on dvcpro25 footage.

    Thanks!

One I don’t have yet, obviously! 🙂 I’ve ahd a friend suggest we buy Sorenson Squeeze to do this, but I am open to any and all suggestions for an easy workflow to export from final cut, convert, and save the flash files off to something a web guru can work with. Raqlly I onyl want to encode existing video and not author any sort of interactivity or other cool functionality other than just making a file that will play well adn look clean no matter what browser finds it.

I’m not a compressionist so do with my advice as you will, but Sorenson Squeeze is great. You will not feel sorry for buying it.
Believe it or not I’ve gotten great stuff with the Flash Video Encoder. Take a look at this Motion Graphics Demo Reel I did. It has lots of movement and was compressed with the Flash compressor.

    Mark,
Unless you have been required the Flash codec, just make an QT H264 and change the extension to “.flv”.
And don’t forget to de-interlace if is for the web.

    Mark,

I’m trying to do the same thing. Are you saying to do this via Compressor? Can you give a more detailed description of what you’re talking about? Thanks in advance…
    Ken
