Weird Resizing Problem
I had this problem at the university computer lab where I was working in FCP on their server via my external hard drive. They have recently updated from FCP 6 to 7. I have a lot of QT clips on my external drive that are all 4:3 SD. I’m at the stage of wanting to import the clips into FCP & then output as a complete QT clip that I will burn to DVD. Most of the files import OK, but there are 6 that come in stretched. I’m at home now & didn’t think to note the size, but they are 720×576 Apple ProRes clips but in the University FCP they come in stretched to some panoramic format. It’s the same if I play them in QT, when I click Apple Info it says something like 720×576 at 1,000×576 (the bit I’m not sure about is the 1,000 but it’s some number over 1,000).
However when I go home & look at the clips in QT or Mpeg Streamclip for example, they just play as normal ratio SD clips. So I’m sure it’s not the clips that have been resized, just some setting at the Uni that has stretched them. My question is – does anyone know what causes this & is there a simple way to alter the clip properties for example so it’s back to the correct ratio?
