Workflow for sound
Hi
I recently ‘completed’ a project that had interview segments interleaved with music. I sent the audio tracks to soundtrack pro as a mulitrack project, and completed the finer tweeks, sweetening, and level adjustments in soundtrack pro.
Exported the master mix back to FCP (lets call this sequence2), all is good.Following review of the ‘completed’ project, some changes are needed which involves moving some of the interview sequences around in the timeline. I can’t re-order the elements in sequence2 as this is a mix of audio, and if I re-edit the original sequence (which would move the correct audio around), there is no way this is related to the previously exported soundtrack project, meaning that all the tweeks would need to be re-applied to the interview segments (I appreciate that some level adjustments would have had to be re-done anyway).
Is there a better workflow to retain tweeks done on clips and the overall mix when the picture is not completely locked ? Would it have been better, for example, to sweeten individual audio clips by exporting them as soundtrack audio files, then create a separate levels mix only (multiproject).
