    Hi,

I’m dealing with a lot of raw material that contains time breaks. I’ve got my capture settings set at – create new clip on time-breaks – This is fine but it losses around eight seconds between the two clips created during the entire capture process.

I know FCP needs a pre-roll but cant I bring that down? to the lowest number of seconds possible?
Can someone please share with me the best setup, within the preferences and settings of FCP, to deal with Time Breaks commonly occurring?

Any advice, hints, tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

I can’t advise on the time breaks as I’ve never captured that way. However, whatever you do to help your situation, most likely, you won’t be able to reliably recapture the footage in the future. So, be sure to archive all your data when you’ve finished your project in case you need revisit it later.
