  • Soundtrack Pro “stereo” recording question

I’m trying to record Foley sounds for a film we just shot, with a shotgun mic on stand and recording the sounds on Soundtrack Pro. Honestly I’m not well versed in SOundtrack Pro and neither of my co-workers. we done a couple of tests and are having trouble with the “stereo” selection on the recording tab. We we put it in mono, we get a good sound but it’s only panned to the left. Once we put it in stereo though, it sounds warped and jambled, not too mention barely audible. We want to record our sounds obviously in stereo without it obviously sounding like muck. Does anyone know what we are doing wrong and how to correct this? Thanks.

You can’t record “stereo” with one shotgun mic on stand.

If you want the audio from one mono mic to appear in both channels, simply PAN the audio to “center”
    in the audio software.
