• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  Can’t install Final Cut 5

  I’m trying to install a copy of Final Cut Pro 5 onto my brand new off the shelf iMac machine and I’m getting a flag that says that I don’t have the proper hardware to do so. I was told when I bought the machine (just about a month ago) that I could run Final Cut on it. It’s the basic machine with the Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz chip, 4 GB ram, 500 GB hard drive and everything else that comes standard on this machine. What do I need to run this program… and are there any workarounds that will allow me to load this software without any additional hardware?

  FCP 5 won’t work on Intel Macs. It was designed for the older PowerPC models. FCP 5.1 was the first version that worked on Intel Macs. You need a newer version of FCP. Sorry.
