    Hi all,

Thanks to everyone who helped me talk our tech guy out of the crapware (Wax) and into the Adobe Production Suite! Hopefully I’ll have it next week! Exciting!

Now, I need a digital camcorder. Any suggestions? Keep in mind, I have no real filming experience, so must be very user friendly, but still good enough quality to make me look good. 🙂 Cost is a factor too, of course.

Thanks for any advice you might have!

What are you going to use it for? Does it need to be SD or HD? What type of lighting will you be using? Are you looking for some type of consumer model? Without knowing any of the above; look for something with the largest image sensor you can afford.

Also, consider checking the Broadcast Video COW. Give them your budget first.

I agree with Dave. Changes in camera technology mean you may replace a camera every three years. No so tripods, mics etc.

That said, I’ve seen and love the new Sony EX1.

Put your money into mics and tripods, rent the camera you need for now.
