FCP workflow and organization
Just wanted to ask the experts to validate this kind of workflow.
GIven a Mac Pro with the following:
– 1x750gb System/Apps disk
– 1x750gb “Projects” disk to contain projects, organized by client –> show (or project) –> Project
– 2x750gb disks in a RAID0 for Capture scratchI intend to do some studio captures via Blackmagic Intensity/HDMI to the RAID0, so I have it set as the scratch disk for the time being.
What I’d like to do MOST of the time is treat the RAID0 as a capture “inbox” so to speak. I could capture the footage to that under a project named “Project_capture”, then use media manager to shuffle off captured media to the “Projects” disk under the proper folder to create a brand new, self-contained project.
Only problem with this idea is that I’d also like the render files to come over with the project, so this idea rather falls apart at that point.
I guess what I’m trying to avoid is doing too much work in the System Settings area because this is a shared Mac Pro that users will often be working with on projects. But just about everything I can think of requires revisiting and tweaking these settings on new projects or opening projects, unfortunately.
