I just started using FCP and I’d like some feedback regarding which capture and render settings will give me the absolute best output quality (based on the capabilities of my system, listed below). I shoot all of my footage using a Sony (HDR-FX7) HD camera.

    Mac Pro Tower:

Two 2.26GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon processors
    12GB (6x2GB)RAM
    1TB 7200-rpm Serial ATA 3Gb/s
    NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 512MBI

I know this is a painfully simple question for this forum but I’m just getting started and I’m trying to get up-to-speed quickly. I will have better questions in the future!

Capture ProRes (not HQ!!!). Editing is faster, and easily export in any format. It’s a drive space hog, though, so make sure you have a lot of room.
