I’m relatively new to HD and Final Cut. I recently purchased a canon HD camcorder and I’m thrilled with the optics and the ease of use. I made my first test DVD in FCE (sorry can’t afford ‘Pro’) and was pretty happy with the quality and results. I did notice a fair amount of interlacing on areas in the video with patterns, bright colors, or horizontal/vertical lines. It’s acceptable but I’d love to remove most of the effect.

I’m capturing in FCE using AIC 1080i. I then export to QT (not self-contained) and import into iDVD. I guess iDVD is doing the downconverting? Is there a better way to get “down” to SD?

    Thanks,
    Bob
