I am trying to export stills from FCP using File -> Export -> Using Quicktime Conversion -> Still Image. I’ve experimented with different file settings including PNG, Photoshop, and JPEG but it seems like my images are of lower quality than my footage. What’s especially noticeable is that the colors are off. Is there a better way I can be exporting my image to get a closer (or identical?) image quality to my footage? The footage is DVC Pro HD shot on an HVX200. Many thanks in advance. Eagerly anticipating your reply.

    Thanks in advance,

    Sean

are you trying to export a still image of interlaced footage? If you do that, you have to bring that image into Photoshop and use the de-interlace filter.

De-interlacing doesn’t do anything. It’s more of a color issue. Tnx, -Sean
