I am in need of info on what computer would I need. I ‘am shooting on the Panasonic HMC-150 and I am will be using Final Cut Pro to edit the HD footage. I am looking at a Mac Pro 2.93Ghz Quad Core Intel Xeon 8Gb Memory I will be using the effects that come with Final Cut and very little after effects. Would this computer be fast enough? Using this computer how long would it take to Log and Transfer an hour of 1080 60i of footage into this system. If this computer is not beefy enough please let me know what you recommend. I’m wanting to stay with Mac computer.

    Thanks

    John

    Hi John

More than sufficient – Just get a nice fast external drive – either e-sata , raid 0 or a good FW800 unit like a WD Studio pro 2 with Raid 0 or 1 option and ur flying !

If you have money for a good card like a Blackmagic or AJA get one, but its not essential
