I’m sure I’m going to make myself sound stupid, but there is a button in FCP that I just can’t work out what it does.
It appears wherever you have the opportunity of changing colour in a filter, transition or text generator etc, and is located between the eyedropper, and the colour selector square. It looks a bit like a little hue wheel, with a clockwise arrow on it, that reverses if you click on it.
It’s been driving me nuts for ages, can anyone help?

    thanks in advance!!

This came up yesterday on another forum. Here’s what I wrote:

If you keyframe the color value the button sets which way around the color wheel the color will animate. For instance if you set two greens that are fairly close to each other, in one direction the animation will barely change from one green to the other, in the other direction the animation will go all the way around the color wheel.

    All the best,

    Tom

    Tom,

I’m slightly embarrassed that I didn’t managed to work that one out myself, but that’s absolutely fantastic!

    thanks so much

I was looking all over the web for this answer, thanks.
