  FCP HD Presets for Panasonic SDR-H40P

  Hello,
  I am upgrading my analog S-VHS system to a small footprint Panasonic SDR-H40P handycam and have come up against the limit of my knowledge of aspect ratios and codecs.
  I have determined the pixel dimensions of the Panasonic SDR-H40P to be either 834×480 or 834×469 but the manual does not specify the codec other than MPG-2. I would like to adjust my presets so that footage from this camera is handled properly. Does anyone have any experience with this?
  I need to know the pixel dimensions of the input and which codec I should edit and how.

  I think you’re overthinking this.

  Drop a shot from you camera into a sequence – FCP will conform the sequence settings to your footage.
