I’m trying to import MOI/MOD files from a Canon camera to use in Final Cut Express.

I was using Visualhub in trial mode (with the intention of buying) but it has now been discontinued.

I have been using Imovie to turn the files in mov clips.

I have Quicktime Pro and MPEG Streamclip but everytime I use them to convert a the mov to DV it needs to be rendered in Final Cut.

Is there any way of converting these files?

When using Streamclip do not use the Export to DV function. Use the Export to QuickTime function and set the codec to DV.

Make sure the sequence you’re working in matches the media you’re converting.

What version of FCE are you using?

    All the best,

    Tom

Is there a way to convert the files to .mov without going through Imovie – quicktime and streamclip don’t recognize MOD/MOI files.

Exactly where did these files come from and how did they get onto your computer?

    All the best,

    Tom
