  fixing a night shot

  Hi all,

  i have footage filmed at night in the middle of the jungle trying to catch in video a little animal flying from one tree to another. Since this was shot very amateurishly it’s kind of hard to see the little animal cause of the darkness of the place, the camera shaking and the distance. I understand that it’s almost impossible to fix it but i was wondering what tools could i use to improve it as much as possible understanding the limitations. one thing i’ve applied is the image stabilizer filter, i think it has improved the shoot’s shake. What else could i do to improve color and other stuff?

  forget the image stabilizer, and use smooth cam. For color correction, I’d use the 3 way CC to adjust the mids/whites/shadows, desaturate it so it’s black/white to make the critter stand out better. Then maybe a green tint to give a nite vision look and to hide some of the noise and flatness from boosting the shadows and mids as high as i think you’ll need to go.

  Color may be a better way to go, but i’m not familiar enough with it to recommend.
