In FCP 6.0.5, I’m using a master motion template within a video project. I’m trying to use video freeze frames within the template. When I drop the freeze frame in the well inside the controls panel in the viewer, nothing happens. FCP doesn’t recognize the video. Within the same template, I can drop in regular moving video and it works. I’m using simple anamorphic DV video. I’m confused and would appreciate any insights. Thanks.

Also, is there a way to get the NTSC master templates to automatically scale to an anamorphic aspect ratio? For me, they seem to stubbornly stay 4:3 unless I go in and manually scale them. Thanks again.
    Cheers.

Try export the stills as JPEG or PICT, reimport, then try.

No easy way to convert 16×9 temps into 4×3 or vise versa. Wish there was…
