The simplest way to capture 3 cameras of 10 hours footage each
Hi Guys
In the next few months, i have been asked to shoot an instructional workshop over 2 days. The end result will be a volume set of 4 or 5 DVDs.
To keep costs down, i am borrowing 3 canon XH-A1 cameras.
Going from the experience 6 years ago, when i did it with 2 cameras, i am expecting roughly 10 hours of footage from each camera. Thats alot of digitising.
Can anyone suggest a method of capture that will allow me to do it Live in the field and use the tapes as back ups.
I am undecided as to what post production equipment to use, whether it be a new macbook pro 17″ or dual Quad Mac pro (money has been set aside for this purchase) The production will not involve complex effects, rather, simple cuts to different cameras and a few picture in pictures. The most advanced will be overlaying of lower thirds. I don’t anticipate doing this thing often and a laptop is preffered, if it can handle it.
If anyone could suggest a method with this camera, or if you think i should hire newer cameras that allowed for a simpler method of capture, then i am all ears.
Thanks
m.
