I want put some echo on the end of a music edit how do I go about this? The echo is not required on the main music track – just the last second or so to help it out.

Try this simple solution. Copy that portion of the track and move that doubled portion down to lower tracks, then slide the duplicated portion 1 or two frames later down the timeline. Then cut the volume in half on both sets of tracks in the region only so you don’t have summed volume at the twice the desired level. Bingo, instant echo.

    Does that make sense?

Thank David will try it. As a film editor at dubbing sessions the mixer would bring up the echo spring pot on the end of the music.
