‘easy setup’ clarification
This should be a no-brainer, but i’d really like some clarification before i set up my project. What is the difference between DV-NTSC 24p (23.98) and DV-NTSC 24p (23.98) advanced pulldown removal. Or more specifically, what are examples of when you would properly use each.
The project i’m working with was shot on HDcam (23.98) and was down-converted to DVcam, which i’m about to digitize. Unfortunately, i don’t have access to talk to an online editor, and I just want to make sure that when we do go to online, things go smoothly. I’d hate for the next few weeks of work to be worthless just because i didn’t set the project up correctly. Thank You!
Perhaps this has been explained in a tutorial, and if it has, i apologize. Still new to the site, and finding my way around.

Advanced pulldown is explained in the manual. You use advanced pulldown if that’s what your camera shoots. Some camera shoot 24p that gets recorded at 29.97 using the tradition 3:2 pulldown cadence. Some cameras allow shooting with advanced pulldown which uses the 2:3:3:2 cadence which converts more easily to 23.976.
