I am new to the video business and just recently shot my first for-pay footage. Exciting! Now I need to make stills and author them to CD. I’ve made freeze frames, hoping that was the right step so far, but not sure. A hardy thanks in advance!

You don’t need to make freeze frames. Make sure there isn’t anything selected on the timeline and then move your playhead to the frame you want to make into a still. Then just click File-Export-Using Quicktime Conversion. Go down to format (bottom left) and change to still image. Then click on the Options button next to it to change your settings (JPEG, TIFF, PNG, etc.).

    Just like you remember it…
    maybe better.

Thanks a million, Phil. I hope you don’t mind the really basic questions because I’ve got a lot to learn. I really do appreciate it.
