  • Sending a Final Cut project without resending the captured clips

Posted by Marina Korskoff on June 16, 2008 at 10:11 am

Me and a friend of mine worked together on a project and have the same clips on our HDDs. We are at different ends of the world now.
Now I kept working on the project, which means I just deleted some clips and renamed the others until now. Later I’d like to participate on editing as well.

How do I send the project only, without sending the 100GB of captured footage back and forth?

    Thanks in advance!

Just send the project file and have them reconnect the clips to their media.

    All the best,

This is what XML was made for.

    File – Export XML.

Check it out. Might be helpful – I’ve found the difference of sending XML vice Project files very helpful.
