  • FCE HD 3.0 “quits unexpectedly” when opening recent projects

Let me start by saying that I plan on restoring my G4 and installing FC Studio 2 and starting from scratch. I’ve been using FC E HD 3.0 for a couple years. I learned how to use it while saving all my Projects ,clips and sequences in no particular order, because I just didnt know how to organize files. ( I still dont! kinda)

I at least saved, ( set the scatch disc), all my video clips on to the external G DRIVE Q. I’m hoping that I’ll be able to access those raw video clips I captured using FCEHD3.0 with FCP6 after i install and start using it.

As far as the original subject,
I’ll have FCEHD3.0 open, when I try to open a recent project, fce “quits”. I can only open projects from the autosave vault from prior to approx. 11/07′ I trashed preferences and ran disk utilities. And its still the same. I might add that since I trashed the preferences , all new projects have worked great.

    What would cause this?
Could there be corrupt files on my external drive also?
Is there a way to delete all my FCEHD3.0 files on both the G4 and the G Drive Q but still keep the raw DV clips available for use in FC Studio 2 Suite later?

    thanks , Dean
