    Hello,

I’ve been trying to use a JVC SR-DVM700U as a Firewire I/O box for FCP. With analog sources (old VHS tapes from a VHS deck) I’m getting a message that, “The audio sample rate of one or more of your captured media files does not match the sample rate on your source tape.

–Well my analog VHS tape HAS NO sample rate!

As a result, and as the message confirms, “This may cause the video and audio to be out of sync. Make sure the sample rate of your capture preset matches the sample rate of your tape.”

I’m guessing there’s something not quite right between the JVC and the Firewire input on my Mac which lets me bring the clips into FCP.

Any reason to believe that there would be any difference using the s-video instead of the composite input on the JVC? My vhs deck, of course, doesn’t have an S-video out.

The JVC doesn’t have a sample rate control.

This may be one of those wacky things that no one thought of in either engineering dept. I can’t find a sample rate converter in FCP. Besides, when I look at one of the captured clips properties in FCP, it says 16-bit 48kHz.

If this is the case, do you have a good analog video/audio I/O box suggestion?

    Thanks,

    Ty Ford
