  Best Mac Pro Configuration for FCP user

  I have an older G5 Dual 1.8 processor and 1.5GB of ram. I am working in Final Cut nearly every day now and need to make a major upgrade to a Mac Pro model. I don not shoot in HD but shoot in 24p mostly. I do a lot of color correcting, compressing, and started recently to work in After Effects. I would like to know what the best “bang for my buck” Mac Pro configuration would be for a Final Cut user like me?

  I would suggest the 2.8 Mac Pro with the Nvidia 8800 GT graphics card (or the separate ATI X1900 XT). Buy your RAM and additional hard drives through someone else. (I like crucial.com for RAM).
