  issues about replacing FCS1 with FCS2

  Hello all,

  I want to upgrade from FCS1 to FCS2 but the FCP I have (5.1.4) is the academic version, which means, according to Apple’s fine print disclosure, I cannot upgrade to FCS2. However they said that I could purchase the academic version of FCS2.

  My question here is since an upgrade is out of the question, it seems like I would need to purchase and install FCS2. Would this affect the projects I have going in FCS1? How would those projects make the jump from FCS1 to FCS2

  Or would the installation recognize the existence of FCS1 and modify itself to install new components?

  Allow me to clarify.. by projects, I mean projects in Final Cut Pro.. so my first question should read: “Would the installation of FCS2 affect the projects I have going in the current version of FCP that I have?”
