  External NTSC monitors

  The Apple Pro Training Series books stress the importance of getting an external NTSC monitor if you’re planning to output to NTSC interlaced TVs. This seems to be especially crucial when color correcting. I’m wondering what you, the pros in the industry think about this. Is it really that important? If so, can you suggest some good yet affordable monitors? Thanks

  It is important.

  A JVC 15″ is an affordable choice right now.

  We are in a transitional phase. Because more and more people are watching progressive flat displays, CRT interlaced monitors will be obsolete in the not too distant future
