April 12, 2007 at 11:20 pmWhen I by a new computer I like to be safe buy trying to put everything that can’t be upgraded later to its fullest like the CPU speed and then for everything else if I have any money left add on now or buy it later.
For FCP I would try to get Max CPU, but I think 2.16 is good enough. For Ram I would have 2 gigs, 3 if you want to use Motion and/or HD quality footage. I would also make sure it has the best video card for it -> ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics with 256MB SDRAM.
So for summery I would get the middle one(15, 2.33ghz, 3gigs), unless you want a larger screen(17, 2.66ghz, 3 gigs).
If you want FCP to just be able to run, then even the lowest grade model will do.
Hope this Helps!!
