  Is there a way to make a split screen for comparisons within FCP 5.1.4

  Tools > Frame Viewer is good for matching shots.

  Another method is the layer the shots and crop the shot on the top layer.

  Double click the top layer to load in the Viewer.

  Click the Motion tab.

  Twirl open the Crop carot.

  Adjust to taste.
