    Monitoring off your deck is best, in my opinion. Especially if you are outputting for video (eg not exclusively for web).

    You will get a better reference for your colours, and minimise potential latency/sync issues in your final product. You will also get a better idea of what your audio sounds like off tape while digitising – I find the audio monitoring in the Capture window to not be accurate to what’s actually on the tape.

    Don’t monitor video through your deck and audio through G5 – sync will be out.
