    Hello,

I am trying to output 720p24 HD footages to DVD+R (4.7GB) through iDVD (to give out as samples) yet when I see the results on TV, the footage looks like DV, not HD.

Am I doing something wrong or is iDVD a poor application for HD?

    Thanks

How are you exporting? iDVD does not support DVCPRO HD, only DV or HDV material in AIC. And of course everything you bring into iDVD will be compressed into MPEG-2. It does not support HD DVD or Blu-ray.

    All the best,

Exporting: I think Export> QT movie and straight to iDVD, and from there “one step DVD from movie”

What is an ideal way of burning a DVD with 720p24 footage that retains quality on SDTV? (I do this for feedback on the film I’m making).

    Thanks.

First of all iDVD doesn’t support 24fps, only 29.97 and 25. Nor does iDVD accept native HDV material. HDV has to be in the Apple Intermediate Codec. You could export to that.

Why don’t you go to DVD Studio Pro using Compressor?
