Moving project to another hard drive?
I love this site. I’m working on an hour long movie and it’s edited in FCP 3. I have a 120 gig hard drive that also has the FCP application. I know that it is suggested to put the application on hard drive and put a project on anohter hard drive. When I started the project 2 yrs ago I only had the one hard drive. I need to move the project from the original hard drive I’ll call HD#1 and put it on the new hard drive #2 that is 250 gig. I also have a 250gig firewire drive #3 just to save the whole project once it’s done. I need to get the project on to hard drive number # 2 so I can start the visual effects work and have enough room for the visuals and audio work. I started the project in FCP 3 and now have FCP 5. I would also like to upgrade to FCP 5 and finish the project in that version once I get the project moved.

The best way to accomplish this is by using media manager.

Could you explain the process just a bit. I’m concerned about the clips losing their conecrtion.
