Is is possible to create a credit roll with Boris or the FCP graphic generator which contains a “gutter?”
I would like to make a cast list with the character name on one side of the gutter, and the actor’s name on the other side. Possibly with different fonts for the two.
    TIA

Separate the title and name with an asterisk (*).

    SO…

    Grip * Danny Gutter
    Gaffer * John Slausen
    Best Boy * Patrick O’Hallaran

    Like that.

Uh, sorry, but I don’t get it, Shane. Is that a joke or a real solution?

Real solution. Didn’t you try it?

Shane’s solution is for the scrolling text tool. Do make a gutter in Title Crawl, you double click in the ruler at the top of the text window. Double click on the tab stop that appears until you have one tab that’s right aligned and the second tab that’s left aligned. Use the tab key to move between the two sides.

    All the best,

OK, now we’re getting somewhere. Tom, is it possible to insert a text file into Boris, or do I have to manually type out my credits, jumping from column to column? Also, should you click on the “center text” icon? And once you start using the gutter, is it possible to switch to plan centering for the next category, such as “Crew”?
Thanks again for the help, and is this in any instructions somewhere? Or, are you just this damn clever?

You should be able to, but it’ll be a pain adding the tabs. Title Crawl is kind of quirky. Give it a try and see how it goes.

    All the best,
