Once or twice per miniDV tape that I capture, the capturing process stops and I get a message:

“Error: capture was now aborted due to break in cadence in the VFR/pulldown in the source stream”

It seems to happen on specific frames and when I go back to capture the same section of tape, I get the exact same error in the exact same spot. The result is not being able to capture 1 or 2 seconds of video, which is a problem. Any suggestions?

Either try Capture Now without Timecode… or be sure to actually use pre and post-roll in future while shooting.
