    Hello,

I have gotten a little confused whilst editing my latest project in FCP 5.

The audio files I had on an external HDrive went down with the drive. I managed to salvage some audio from the render files thanks to Mr Tom Meegan (Jul 15, 2006).

I used itunes to recreate the files and coverted to AAC files (and i’m not sure if that was the best file format). However I renamed both files to the original extension .mp3 and .m4a (even though they are AAC files) so FCP would accept the files and import.

Now this seems like a ‘band aid fix’ instead of being in complete control. Is there a more precise method keeping in mind that I have compressor at my disposal?

    Any help is always appreciated.
