On a Mac laptop G4, 1.5G ram, FCP starts to boot from file or program, runs halfway through and stops without message. Have tried running FCPRescue and disk utilities permissions/repair. No luck. Help!

I’m having the same issue – FCP appears to be loading up fine and then suddenly stops, and you get returned to Finder.
Started to happen after I accidentally set the wrong scratch disk after my media files went offline.
Any help would be appreciated please!

I have had this problem a number of times, especially when you put a new drive in the mix. You will have to trash your settings. Use the following link to get the freeware program and it will guide you through trashing your settings. https://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14729 Once you use this program, you will have to redo your settings. Hope it helps,

Paul, after I posted my SOS message, a friend helped me solve the problem by phone. Here’s what I did: Go to Macintosh HD, click Library, click Preferences, click Final Cut Pro User Data, throw to trash the three Final Cut Pro Icons, empty trash. Reboot. It worked for me. Hope it works for you.
