  Probably a simple question. I have a client who is trying to cut a clip out of the timeline and when he does so, the remaining clips on the timeline ripple down to the left. I don’t know where to find the setting to turn off the ripple effect. Can someone point me in the right direction?

  Use the blade tool on the in an outs and then select the clip an hi delete. this will leave a hole.

  Difference between the DEL key and the delete key. Just a small clarification to David’s correct answer.
