  HELP! My final cut pro suddenly won’t start…!!! HELP!!!

  powerbook G4, final cut pro 5

  shortly after closing FC5, It said there was an error and it closed unexpectedly, now when you go to open it, after the loading screen it exits and crashes my powerbook. When i try to open my projects in final cut express 2, it says they are corrupt? can this be? can you open fc5 projects in final cut express anyway? If my projects have been corrupted then im screwed!

  You can’t open FCP project files in anything but FCP 5.

  Try trashing your user preferences for FCP 5 and restarting.

  Do you back up regularly? Do you autosave?
