I am new to FCP / DVD Studio Pro.

I edited a sequence, marked the IN at 1:00:00:00 and the OUT at 1:03:20:04 which are the start and end of the sequence content. When I import and set the .mov file in DVD Studio Pro, the movie file has a length of 4:11:13. Why are there 50+ seconds of black frames added to the file. I searched all the settings I could find and nothing intuitive popped out at me.

Is there a setting to control the number of extra frames?

Check to make sure there is no additional fooage at the end of your timeline.

Zoom the timeline all the way out to see.

go to the end of your last shot and select everything after it and delete. It sounds like there is a frame or a clip lying around.

    Thanks for the response.

I drug the mouse from the top of the Video channel to the bottom of the last audio channel for a few minutes after the last image and nothing appeared selected that was hidden. I pressed delete anyway and still nothing.

Using the down arrow to jump from one clip end to the next, it stops at last frame of content.

There does not appear to be any content causing the extra frames to be exported.

I dropped the Motion clip and ended on a JPG still and same result with either content type.

Something must have been present after the end of the timeline.
Extra frames in QT .mov file are gone after doing drag – drop – delete.
