  • Why does the DVD play back on a widescreen TV like it is sqwooshed?

I shot my video 16:9 HDV. I captured it as DV. In DVD SP4, my settings are for 16:9 . I play the DVD on a widescreen TV and it looks as if my video is 4:3 fitting into 16:9.
What are the correct settings to get a better picture on a widescreen TV?

It’s a problem with the DVD build. Anamorphic DVD’s are encoded to ‘tell’ the tv set to switch them to anamorphic, broadcasts do the same trick. Use you tv menu and select 16.9. Remember 16.9 and 4.3 are the same number of pixels it’s just about how they are displayed.
