• Apple Final Cut Pro Legacy

  new version expected soon?

  G’day,

  I’m thinking about how to convince my wife that we need to buy a new iPod. Unfortunately, even if she agrees, we have FCP 4.5, which apparently won’t create an iPod export. If I have to upgrade, I’d prefer to upgrade to 6 instead of 5 -and- 6. Is there a track record of how often Apple releases new FCP versions?

  You can create iPod video with FCP4.5. You just need to have QuickTime 7.0.3 installed. It has nothing to do with FCP.

  G’day Tom,

  Thank you very much. There is a message in the iPod forum which says only FCP 5 can be used.

  Now that I know 4.5 will work, I’ll talk to the wife about an urgent need for the video iPod…..

  Keep in mind that if you upgrade to QT7 Pro, you will need to get a new registration for QT. Plus, I don’t know if QT7 and FCP 4.5 play well together.
