  beginner’s question – disturbed playback

  When I open the log and capture window and try to view my tape the pic is disturbed when there’s movement filmed… I’m new with the program, please help! I think it’s a simple problem but I couldn’t find the answer also not in books, and I can’t continue learning without this first step

  If you’re looking at this on your computer monitor, you’re probably seeing an interlace blur. Standard definition video is interlaced for video playback. When you look at interlaced video on a computer monitor, it can tear up and look blurred when there is either a lot of action in the shot or during camera movements. This is normal.

  If you can, try to always view your FCP projects on an external video monitor.
