    Hi Guys,

    Excellent idea.
I’m going to send my students on over to the pasture!

    My question ….

I’ve imported about 20 gigs from a laptop over to my G5 and every time I render clips on the timeline I am getting kernel panic.
Originally I thought it was hardware related but I have tried a few projects I have created on the G5 and they are OK.

    Is it a corrupt file.

Perhaps I should transfer a small amount at a time.

    cheers

    Andy

Is that one file 20GB in size? What I’d try, in that case, is plug a firewire cable between the laptop and the G5. Reboot the laptop, holding down the T key to start it in firewire target disc mode. Now it will appear to the G5 as a hard drive. Now copy across the 20GB file to the G5, and try it again in FCP.
