  • Comp not resizing when time remapping

Hey, I looked through the FAQ’s and didn’t see anything about this so here is a quick question.

I was doing a VCP tutorial about time remapping and he used time stretch. When he slowed down the clip, his comp was obviously longer, like 10 seconds instead of 5. When I did the same thing on my comp, the length stayed the same and therefore I could only see part of my slow motion clip.

    What did I miss?

    Thanks guys

where is the problem? just go to Composition settings and increase the length of the comp from 5 to 10 , or whatever

The comp length doesn’t change when time remapping — but you can change the *layer* length by dragging the in/out points of the layer after you time remap. You have to do this so you can see the rest of the layer.

The only way to change a comp’s length is by using the Composition Settings dialog. The tutorial author might have been using a longer comp all along, but was just zoomed into it so it *appeared* shorter.

Thanks, I know I can just change the settings, but his automatically adjusted to the new length of the clip. Just wondering how he did that.

I guess i’ll just stick to changing the length.
